The Little Mermaid

Hi everybody!!! Well, last monday, I saw the movie of Walt Disney 'The Little Mermaid' with my cousins, most of girls thinks that is a beautiful story, really a fairy tale, but, the true story was written by Hans Christian Andersen, and is about a young mermaid who want to be human because she was in love of a human prince.
In the story the little mermaid visits the Sea Witch, who sells her a potion that gives her legs, in exchange for her voice. Drinking the potion will make her feel as if a sword is being passed through her, yet when she recovers she will have two beautiful legs, and will be able to dance like no human has ever danced before. However, it will constantly feel like she is walking on sharp swords, and her feet will bleed most terribly. In addition, she will only get a soul if the prince loves her and marries her, for then a part of his soul will flow into her. Otherwise, at dawn on the first day after he marries another woman, the Little Mermaid will die brokenhearted and disintegrate into sea foam.
In Disney's adaptation the little mermaid had a happy ending, but in the Andersen's version she had a diferent end. I recommend you to read this tale, so that you'll know the original version and compare that with other adaptations.

The philosophy of doctor house, everybody lies.

Hello teacher

I`m going to talk about a pretty good book that I`m reading it is call “the philosophy of doctor house”.

I don`t know you, but I think that everybody loves doctor house, I mean, the way he is and thinks it`s just amazing, he just says anything he wants whatever if its kind or not, he is just so direct to people, it doesn`t matter if he hurts their feelings or just broke their dreams and sometimes people wants to know why he thinks like that or what does he exactly means with his thoughts, that’s what the book is about.

The main point of the book, as I said it before, is to discover what`s on his mind, and the author compare house with other famous philosophers and writers like Nietzsche, Socrates and some others.

I`m sure that if you like the series, you will love this book.

The independence most go on!

Hao!!! My name is Rodolfo, I’m also well known as Rudolf. I’m going to be entering some comments to this blog on the next days.
Well, first of all I’m going to introduce myself. I’m studying at the university.
I would like to talk about the Independence Day and all the things that spin around that day.
To celebrate the Independence Day should not be only to go to the parties, or get drunk, or go to downtown and lots of nice traditions that all of them I enjoy personally. But we have to remember the origins of the independence war and who were the principal authors.
The Independence Day took place 199 years ago, when a small group of people raised them independence flag and summoned many people from the low society levels to fight against the traditional government, which smashed the poor society for more than 300 years. In my own opinion, society played the most important position.
Since the Independence Day we became in an independent nation and for that reason it stigmatized our minds and we remember that day with much happiness.
During the war, brave people spilt their blood because they were for their human rights, rights that we are still enjoying. The important stuff is that they got together in order to defeat the government.
Nowadays, Mexicans are not following the example, and are bearing the all-days-stupid actions from our government. What we have to do is to get together and demand a best life quality.
I would like to invite to people to think about what are we doing, which way we want to follow and to raise the voice.

THE WIZARD OF OZ

Almost everyone has seen or heard about this surprising film The Wizard of Oz, directed by Victor Fleming in 1939 and starred by Judy Garland (one of the most famous Hollywood actress).

It's about a young girl named Dorothy, who tries to run away from home, but a tornado carries her off to a magical land where she meets very strange and wonderful characters as a scarecrow who wants a brain, a tin woodsman who wants a real heart, and a cowardly lion who wants courage, all of them travel with Dorothy to the Emerald City to ask for help to a great wizard who is really an ordinary man. He tells them that firstly they must find the bad witch and bring her broom to him. In fact it was only a proof in order to they realized the thing they were looking for it was inner themselves. When Dorothy recognized that her home is the best place on the Earth. She clicks her heels together three times and says 'There's no place like home', then she wakes up in her own bed and she discovers that her adventure was only a dream which she learned an important lesson.

African killer ants...

Just because i love animals, and getting again to the subject of weird animasl. Right now I'm going to talk about ants. Have you ever wonder how dangerous an animal such as a little ant can be?
I'll give you an example...Imagine you're laying on a field filled of grass sleeping, then you feel as if something were burning you and in the moment you wake up you see thousands of ants eating your skin. The only thing yo can clearly see is your muscle.
You try to take the colony off of your arm but you can't, the ants are eating you alive.
It's horrible isn't it??
Well there are this kind of ants called Dorylus ants, you can find them in Africa and the west part of Asia.
I wouldn't like to find them, they can eat whatever they find. When they find a human the human regularly dies of asphyxiation, and then they eat the whole human. These ants live in colonies from about 20,000 members. With two or three soldiers per colony.
So the next time you want to take a quick sleep in africa think about it twice.

Our World

I would say that there are many factors that affects our ecosystem, for example: soil, fire, overpopulation, garbage, etc.. One big problem is building more houses in forests or agricultural lands, because people who build houses cut a lot of trees without proper restoration. In my opinion pollution is a serious ploblem today but water polluted is even worst. Can you imagine being without water?... We have to understand that water is very necessary and if we don´t take care of it we won´t be able to surviveOne of the biggest problem in our city is the scarcity of water and I think we can make some changes to improve and protect our ecosystem. We must create laws to help people undarstand the importance of the water to have a better life and a better future.

Studying English

Hello everybody, you know when I was studying english at UNAM, our teachers used to give us different stories every semester in order to improve our vocabulary. They were very good and entertaining. At the beggining they were very weird but as long you were reading them, they become more interesting. They usually have a funny end. I really enjoyed reading those kind of stories. Another thing that we used to do was to make a speech in from of all the group, what made me feel very nervous because I'm not use to talking in from of a lot of people. Talking about the speech, you had to look for information about a topic that you were familiar or maybe something that you were interested in share with your partners. In this case you had to look a lot of information about the topic you were going to talk and tried to understand everything because you were not allowed to read anything during the speech. And WHAT if someone asked you something and you couldn't answer it?. The teacher made you feel nervous when she or he wrote in their notebook every detail that you made wrong and that was awful but anyway you had to continue until the end . Another thing we used to do was to read a complete book. The good thing was that you could choose the kind of book that you prefer. At the end of the course you had to talk about the story with your teacher and she asked you some questions about the characters and sometimes they asked you : What would you have done in this case? or what if this situation would have happended to you? . IT WAS HARD but anyway nobody says that learning a language was going be easy.

A VERY EXCITING WEEK-END!!!

Hi, everybody!!!

Well, i really need to share my las week-end experience... why? because i went to do abseiling. This sport is an extreme sport, in which you have to descend from a hill, holding you only with a rope and an harness.

First, i felt so secure from myself that i asked to be the first, but when i saw the view i scared....and i decided to wait the last turn. Then, when everyone had passed, i only take a deeply breath and began to walk on the wall... i felt an amazing sensation!!...the truth is that i have some bruises now, but i don`t care.

And, when i thought that the extreme situation was passed, my friend said: "now, we are gonig to walk seeing to the floor" On this time, i was the second one in descend from the hill. I will tell you that it was a very exciting experience, no... is better to say exceedingly exciting!...By the time i was on the middle of the hill, i was screeming and i wanted to walk on the floor.

After i finished to descend, i was trembling with a big smile on my face, i didn`t feel my right arm, but i wanted to do it again!!!...and i did. Oh yeah!...it was an incredible day. I recomend you: if you have a chance to do something like that, don`t let it go you won`t be regreted.

at IPN, where can you study for FCE?

Hi, there¡
So i want to tell about where i could take this course for FCE. When I finished my advance five course one year ago, I searched different options to take the FCE course. Well, there was three option, fist at cenlex –UPIITA , I think that it is the best option, because the course is given by a teaches that has years experience whit this course. You always do exercises from FCE and you have a time limit. This is a six-month course. In addition to, you get in free!it is amazing. If you are a student at UPIITA-cenlex , you will enroll. They say that approximately 60-80 % pass FCE. So I had a terrible problem, jaja I hadn’t studied at UPIITA, I study at ESIME azcapo. Jaja. That was hilariously funny because I only could take one class, before they could search me in their student´s list. Of course, my name wasn’t on the list.
On the other hand you can study this course at UPIBI , but UPIBI only has inconveniences, first duration is bigger than ESIME, is a one-year.the fist time I had asked about duration they said that it was six-month but only 33 % have passed the exam , they decided to the course very long. Moreover is the most expensive at IPN, you neet to pay 1000 $ by two-month, in addition to they use the same book that I use in advance course at ESIME. Furthermore, if you need photocopies . you will pay. Photocopies are´t include. Remember that you pay 1000. Jaja
Finally, you know how many you pay for this course, duration, teacher, and more I think that ESIME is better than UPIBI . Jeje. Maybe that the best option is the anglo but I don’t have enough money jaja.

What is climate change and why should we be concerned about it?

<---Sea levels will rise if the gigantic ice sheets in Greenland and west Antarctica start to break up

The Earth's climate has always varied, so the term climate change is now generally used to describe the changes caused by human activity - specifically, greenhouse emissions such as carbon dioxide and methane which build up in the atmosphere anda trap heat.

As human activity increases the concentration of these gases in the atmosphere fay beyond their naturals levels, much more heat is trapped. The term climate change is often used interchangeably with global warming.

Measurements at the Earth´s surface show that average temperatures have risen by some 0.4C since the 1970s. Scientists are confident this change can be blamed on human emissions because the increase is too big to be explained by natural causes. Although natural factors such as changes in the sun and large volcanic eruptions are known to have warmed and cooled tle planet in the past, these effects are not powerful enough to explain the rapid warming seen recently. Only an increased greenhouse effect caused by higher amounts of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere can explain it.

What future temperature rise is expected? Scientists say continued emissions will cause the planet to heat up further. To work out how much, they use computers models based on the programs used to predict the weather. These models are not perfect, and struggle to simulate come features of the climate system such as clouds. To get around this, the scientists run many differents versions and pool the results. The computer models predict that if emissions continue to rise at the present rate, average temperatures will most likely increase by 4C by 2100.

There are uncertainties, though-for example, the planet´s oceans, forests and soils could release their massive stocks of carbon as the world warms, leading to much greater temperature rises than human emissions alone would cause.

Why are warmer temperatures bad? Most plants and animals have evolved to live in a fairly narrow ecological niche. Some will move to find their desired conditions, others will be able to adapt. Those that cannot move or adapt will perish. Some animals, such as the polar bear, have nowhere to move to.
A warmer climate will affect agriculture and water availability. Increased temperatures are also expected to limit rainfall in some regions and bring more extreme weather events such as storms to others.

Sea levels will rise--gradually at first as the extra warmth works its way into the oceans and makes them expand; more quickly if the gigantic ice sheets in Greenland and west Antarctica start to break up.
