Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkeys are an English alternative rock band from High Green, Sheffield, England. It was formed in 2002, by Alex Turner, lead vocals and guitar, Jamie Cook with the guitar, Nick O'Malley, bass guitar and backing vocals, Matt Helders, drums and also backing vocals, and John Ashton as a touring member at the keyboard, guitar, and backing vocals.

Their first album was Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, it was released in 2006 and became in the fastest-selling debut album in British music history, since then the band have released only two more albums: Favourite Worst Nightmare 2007 and Humbug 2009.

Alex and Jamie started with their guitars, which were Christmas’s presents, and later they started to play with a couple of schoolmates. And when they recorded their first singles, they gave some copies to their friends, which made them arrive to the internet without knowing. Suddenly they were at the radio and TV, so they owe their fame to MySpace and other web pages.

Their lyrics talk about social reality, their culture and work class, this has made some politicians and journalists use their words to talk about recent events and political situations.

Arctic Monkeys are coming to Mexico on April 21st, just one day after Muse
