I want to tell you about Mexican traditions on the 1st. and 2nd. of November.
Since a long time ago, our ancestors already offered tribute to their deads.
For example, did you know that Mexicas believed that spirits of deads went to some place depending how they had died, in an accident, in a war, natural death, etc., and it was not for their behavior in the life? The soldiers and pregnant women rested in paradise called "Omeyocan", the people, who died by causes of water, went to Tlaloc paradise called "Tlalocan".
Later, with the Spanish Conquist was joined the traditions catholic and native.
I remember some leyends of that time like "The crying woman". There is a act of theather called "John Tenorio" still, before so many years.
I like very much the famous "skulls" wrotten in the newspapers that talking in verse about some politics, artists, etc.
Mexico has many places where people celebrate these special days, Mixquic, Pátzcuaro, etc.
Generally, we use to visit the cementery, besides to put a offering with food, candles, pictures of the dead person, flowers, etc.
Actually we have adopted some habits from another countries like U.S.A..
In any way, I hope you celebrate these days very well.
